All of Scotland's care homes will have access to rapid lateral flow tests for designated visitors by January/February 2021

@JeaneF1MSP says results are delivered within 30 mins and will "reduce isolation and loneliness" for residents

@ChrScotland
From 7th December, 12 "early adopter" care homes across 4 local authority areas will have access to these rapid tests for visitors

Before 21st December it will be expanded to more homes across an additional 7 local authority areas
For those homes not included in early adopter lateral flow tests - access to PCR testing will be provided in weeks beginning 21st Dec, 28th Dec and 4th Jan
. @JeaneF1MSP says "testing on its own does not reduce transmission," but she hopes this "added layer of protection" will give providers "confidence" to allow more visiting in care homes
The expansion of testing capacity is due to 3 new regional hub laboratories, new testing options and lighthouse labs says @JeaneF1MSP
