Idk how to say this without making it sound like I'm... targeting anyone specific, so just to be clear, I'm not.

Fursuit makers in this fandom really need to get their shit together. 3+ year queues are so far past inexcusable there's not a word for it.

The near constant amount
of stories I see of customers out thousands of dollars years after purchasing a suit erodes trust and confidence in ALL suitmakers, not just a suitmaker's own business.

I know I personally will never be willing to wait past Buyer Protection window of 6 months on a purchase that
large, and I really think that should be the expected norm. Maybe with tolerance of up to a year for those with a trustworthy track record.

I cannot fathom how people find 2, 3, 4 or more year wait periods acceptable.
I personally would be pretty fucking embarrassed to take several thousand dollars from a customer and have nothing to show them for it but excuses for years afterward.
To be clear this tweet chain was definitely spurred by recent high-profile cases involving specific makers, but it's aimed "in general" because it is by no means limited to them or just explicit cases of scamming.

Even "honest" operations w/ YEARS long waits are not acceptable.
I've also seen it expressed that completion is somehow less important now because of COVID and a lack of conventions right now, and to any suitmakers out there that have been using this as an excuse to avoid working?

You took thousands from people. You do not get to determine
that they do not "need" their suits because conventions aren't happening. You were paid for a service, anything past you providing that service/item in a timely manner is COMPLETELY immaterial.
