there are certain ppl u can’t discuss your business with. i’m speaking professionally, not personally. they will wait to use you for their advantage and will count your pockets before your invoices clear.

you discuss with someone a particular job or a particular client and they think they know how much you got paid, what the should be charging you for, etc.

when my production company is paid $50k to produce a project, I DO NOT MAKE $50K.

i have to pay for locations, permits, crew, food, insurance, gear, transportation, talent, and the random ass overhead that you don’t expect to happen in a production.

so when i say “hey. i’m working on a short film. it’s a personal project. i would love to hire you.”

don’t respond “how much u talking? u just did (x-brand). i know u got it.”

obviously gonna delete this thread, but i’m just a bit raw that i have a convo w someone and they counting pockets and throwing it back.

u know what happens w those 50k budgets? i overpay the ppl who have worked for me on personal projects because you deserve it.
