See to the blokes moaning about free period products - please do shut up
To give you an idea of cost: I have heavy periods, therefore I need the longer ones that hold more liquid. I need to change them more regularly. Tampax doesn’t work for me due to the heavy flow - 1/?

- and I have to wear a pad while wearing a tampax as well. So that’s double cost right there if I want to feel “fresher” in the day.
1 packet of Always extra long, night time pads cost approximately £2.50 for a pack of 10. A packet of tampax costs approximately £3 for 18

I can personally go through up to about 7 or 8 pads a day, and my period lasts for anywhere from 3 to 5 days.
3 days = 24 pads = 3 packets of pads @ £2.50 each = £7.50
5 days = 40 pads = 4 packets of pads @ £2.50 each = £10
Throw in a packet of tampax and that’s more £

Doesn’t sound like much does it? But you’re talking £10+ every single month. And if you’re struggling to feed your family, how you fitting that in? Let’s say it’s £13 a month, that’s £156 a year, and a woman has periods for about 40y so that’s £6240 without inflation

My point is - the free period products aren’t designed for EVERY WOMAN, they’re available to people who are struggling with the cost.
Just - leave it alone. It’s not something we choose to go through, but we do so that your children can be born.
