In lights of recent events, may I present you again: the Greek mythology https://twitter.com/odorekijin/status/1331186629218873344
Rustica and Chloe are with the Caiowe duo, it's further hinted from the cards names.
Rustica is a skillful musician, thus could link back to Orpheus' lyre.
Heracles could be Cain, the one tasked to take down the underworld's gatekeeper as his last task.
[mhyk anni spoilers]

Capturing Cerberus being the LAST TASK in the myth kind of calls back at the dangerousness and heaviness of the matter. Supposed to be impossible, no one expects Heracles to comeback alive.
[mhyk anni spoilers]

In ch17, no one (as readers) expects Cain to stand up like nothing happened: he is supposed to be dead.
[mhyk anni spoilers]

Cain did face similar tasks throughout his life as an apprentice Knights, as a Commander, as Wizard; yet, he managed to face them off one by one.

They may have felt like mountains to cross at that time, but now he truly has to face the impossible: turning to stone.
[mhyk anni spoilers]

In this screenshot, Heracles ASKS Hades to hand over Cerberus. In ch17, Cain ASKS Owen to retrieve Cerberus. What more can I tell you.
[mhyk anni spoilers]

In this version, Hades and Hercules fight and Hades ends up wounded. In mhyk, Owen got wounded by the thorns which triggered memories back. Though Cain didn't fight HIM directly, we also know that Owen generally attacks through Cerberus
Cain was never the knight in shining armor Owen waited for, and he never will. Yes, I will die on this hill; no, i will never get tired of repeating it
