hi! i don't like this revisionist history where suddenly singaporeans have never done anything to hold their own authorities accountable so here's just some examples of times where singaporeans did challenge their laws and pushed for real change https://twitter.com/rayner_susannah/status/1331333568006660101

tan eng hong v attorney-general where the issue was sidelined as 'lacking real controversy' (2011) and then again as something to be addressed by parliament (2013)

another case where a gay couple challenged the law and the courts said that 377A was consistent with articles 9 and 12 of the constitution which insist on equality and said repealing is a matter for the parliament
https://www.supremecourt.gov.sg/news/case-summaries/ong-ming-johnson-v-attorney-general-and-other-matters-2020-sghc-63

another case in 2018 which had the backing of prominent professors challenging the law in court again and was dismissed on the same reasons in 2020
anyways i got all this from a simple google search, it's kind of free
