/ There's a lot of nil valuation or retention of funds where damp is found in a property. It's always a result of a poorly trained valuer using a moisture meter. You really need to get on top of this and fast.
/ Referrals are made to so-called PCA damp specialists with a commercial interest in recommending unnecessary damp-proofing. @UKFtweets know there is a problem as do you. Why is it still going on?
/ These 'specialists' have all but two days training and yet chartered surveyors with many years PQE will still refer to firms who are far less qualified in anything to do with building pathology.
/ This is a serious issue and one that needs dealing with fast. I'm also coming across a lot of valuers who are making comment on what they think are structural issues. Valuers haven't got the remit for this so why are they doing it?
/ This must be addressed and fast. Thousands of householders are getting duped into unnecessary and costly work simply because surveyors are poorly trained in damp diagnostics.
/ 'Behaving ethically is at the heart of what it means to be a professional'. Time for you as an institute to prove this as as an RICS regulated professional I am getting more and more appalled at what I'm seeing from other so-called professionals @RICSnews @RICSEngland
/ I appreciate change is occurring but the change is far too slow for many householders who have to really dig deep to fund what is often entirely unnecessary and detrimental work.
