Today's EHRC report is important but it isn't new. Every investigation into the Hostile Environment finds that it breaks laws, creates racial discrimination and pushes people into exploitation and poverty.

Research by @FocusOnLabour and the Labour Exploitation Advisory Group has shown that Hostile Environment creates "conditions in which exploitation thrives" and undermines tackling Modern Slavery.
