After reporting this activity to @Twitter and not receiving significant action on the matter, this thread is intended to bring greater awareness to this threat and to help people understand the threat that this behavior poses for #INDIGENOUS individuals online and offline.

Matt's blog and his online activity is essential to protect Natives online. He investigates inauthentic profiles and reports on trolling, stolen content, fake native profiles, #MMIW activity, and pedophiles that prey on #Indigenous women and children.

Due to the nature of Matt's work, he often deals with his account getting blocked, deleted, or being trolled. He needs social media platforms to recognize his work and partner with him in order to protect his accounts.

Let's talk about the specific troll activity that is threatening Matt and other Natives online currently.

A series of accounts have been created by what appears to be one individual who Matt has detailed in his blog. This person knows of Matt's work.

This troll gets Matt's account blocked/locked on Fridays so that he cannot push out his #\\SettlerSaturday campaigns. This behavior causes Matt financial harm as his investigative abilities relies on these funds. The troll appears to even screenshot Matt's locked tweets.

The troll uses various accounts, mentioned in Matt's blog, to screenshot Twitter posts by other Natives. This trolling behavior is achieved by using fake accounts that camouflage his true identity. These fake accounts have stolen deceased people's identities to appear authentic.

Despite the inauthenticity of these accounts, Kanien'keha:ka (Mohawk) individuals are still following this troll's fake accounts since any attempt by Matt to tweet about the activity might get him blocked in the process. Thus, the only solution is to report the troll's tweets.

Despite this troll stealing online images of Matt & his family and accusing Matt of crimes, the account does not get blocked by @Twitter. The man that appears to be operating these accounts has a criminal record as a registered Sex offender, yet he doesn't get blocked.

The troll appears to steal images of Native kids, then uses Facematch technology to make accusations that Native children are actually missing persons from Europe. Proper legal channels have been used to report this behavior to regional authorities; yet the posts remains online.

This troll is making criminal accusations, which has the possibility of inciting violence against Natives. The troll is claiming to be Indigenous and is steals content from Indigenous accounts. Significant action by @Twitter is needed to stop this threatening behavior.

Also activity by these accounts extends to @Facebook. This image is from a FB post and describes pedophilia. The person described in this post is also described in Matt's blog. The post also claims that this pedophile behavior is appropriate according to Native traditions.

Native Americans and Native allies have reported this harmful behavior to the appropriate platforms. However, the exploitation remains online. Social media companies need to partner with #Indigenous groups in order that women and children are protected. #MMIW
