analysis on nanamis character
this is a garbage take and it shows that you absolutely donât understand nanamis character and his backstory. While it seems at first glance that nanami puts rules and regulations above everything else, his actions and motives speak differently 1/15

Nanami as a student was forced to endure the loss of a close friend, which prob prompted his departure from being a shaman to a salaryman. This change was a deliberate move in order to establish a regular life away from ppl and curses, esp since his job allowed him to work (2/15)
Far away from other humans Which makes sense cuz where there r ppl, there r curses. He doesnât want to deal with that especially after losing haibara. Even the want to make money was to fuel his fantasy of escaping society and curses and living a secluded life. (3/15)
Nanami wants to escape the viscious cycle and lifestyle that came with being a shaman. Sure, nanami would have acted like how OP mightâve mentioned during this period after graduating, but thatâs not taking into account his actual character (4/15)
Nanami is an extremely passionate and generous person, he shows it time and time again with yuuji saying that heâs the adult and yuuji is the child. This isnât to put down yuuji but is to actually try and prevent him from suffering from having to kill the mutated humans. (5/15)
Nanami doesnt want yuuji to have to kill. Instead he wants to keep yuuji as âinnocentâ for as long as possible, especially after losing haibara who was the same age as yuuji at the time. Even yuuji admits to jumper that he doesnât want to kill anyone (6/15)
Nanami tries to respect yuujis innocence and tries to save him from the guilt of having to murder other ppl in order to save others. Ironically itâs only after yuuji was forced to kill others was when nanami declared him a shaman (7/15)
Because now that yuuji understands the weight of his decisions and how it can affect others, he knows now the burden of being a shaman. It isnât just some fun game where you beat bad guys. Thereâll be times where u have to make tough decisions and killing is a viable option 8/15
Nanami knows that yuuji is especially empathetic towards other ppl and their deaths, which is why he understood that yuujis having to end someoneâs life while be a huge burden on the kid. 9/15
In a sense, when acknowledging yuuji as a sorcerer, he reminds yuuji that heâll need to make certain decisions in order to save peopleâs lives, just as yuuji did when killing 2 humans in order to save nanamis life. 10/15
Nanami, time and time again, has proved that he is actually one of the most human characters amongst the rest of the cast. Akutami shows thru nanami the moral burdens that come with being a shaman as well as the struggle of finding ones purpose in life 11/15
This is especially seen when nanami makes his return back to being a sorcerer when he realizes that his skills, while morally exhausting, are far better off by helping others, rather than for his own selfish gain. 12/15
So for anyone to compare nanami to a police officer who beats protestors just because his superiors told him toâyoure full of shit. Youâre obviously ignoring huge amounts of character development and understanding of nanamiâs views on being a shaman. 13/15
Donât ever compare nanami to a police office ever again. In fact donât ever say shit about nanami in front of me esp when you have 0 clue what youâre actually insinuating. 14/15
To say that nanami would be ignorant of his morals n just to listen to his superiors and beat protestors Is an insult to akutamis story and character building. This is exactly what I was talking about with ignorant fans not understanding the story. Thx for proving me right 15/15
