Some politics this morning? A short thread about my voting dilemma... Who deserves my vote. 👇
Back in 2016, I felt the NDC deserved to have been voted out of power based on the happenings at that time - chiefly,

1. the Dumsor issue that gravely affected many lives and business.

2. a number of scandals including Gyeda.

3. ministerial incompetence...
Fmr Prez. Mahama had done very well to with infrastructural projects across the country but those issues couldn't be overlook.

The NPP did well highlighting the faults and incompetence of the Mahama govt. They were very persistent in messaging, promising a major turnaround.
Dazzled by the Prez. Akufo Addo's speeches that spoke to issues and his determination to make a difference, Ghanaians gave him the nod hoping for the best.

However, the truth is the huge expectation of a major turnaround has not been met pre-Covid. Aside Free SHS...
the expectations of a disciplined govt on spending, political will to fight corruption, end to scandals and radical developmental projects towards transformation have not been met.

However, the initial efforts and interventions to manage the pandemic deserve praise.
This was until the Covid management became grounds for politicking. In fact, it was a reset to how govt went about its business pre-Covid.

The very things Nana accused Mahama's govt are the same things fraught with his govt:

1. the inexplicable large number of ministers
2. the involvement of family and friends in govt

3. numerous scandals after scandals

4. incompetence of ministerial leadership

5. failure to fight corruption.
The sad reality is that we are stuck with the two major political parties - one will definitely win the elections. But for a voter like me, the dilemma is having seen experienced governance under both parties, they are similar in many ways than different and so...
my vote hangs in a balance.

I am concerned for Ghana and not fully convinced by the two major parties.

What will it take for us to have our expectation met?

Who are you voting for and what has been your deciding factor? Help a brother out.
