Why have there been no Trump campaign rallies? He could’ve done a show of force right after the election in each of the contested states. This would’ve been important to maintain momentum. Why didn’t it happen?
By appearing to continue the campaign, he could’ve created the illusion that the campaign was not over—at least in order to motivate his supporters (and to pressure state legislators to appoint Trump electors, if that was the play).
The last 2 weeks has seen the momentum collapse—and people waiting for far-fetched Deus ex Machina solutions that are hyped more as eschatological events than legal or political strategies.
What’s happened is like a political eclipse, when two groups overlap in rhetoric and intensity: average pro-Trump voters who (rightly) don’t want to stop fighting + a faith-based eschatological group that’s awaiting an immanent Great Awakening.
Because there was no leadership and no continued momentum, these two groups overlapped and merged—you had to buy into increasingly unlikely magic victory or you were traitorous, firing off rounds in a circular firing squad, or a Deep State/RINO/etc.
When a situation is established that does not allow for course correction, or to say even privately, to the White House that it’s not working—at the penalty of looking disloyal—you’ve jumped the shark operationally. It becomes an Emperor Has No Clothes situation. No good.
It’s funny—you get called a traitor and a RINO for noticing the strategy won’t work, but my own strategy would’ve been harder and more balls-out than any of the Trust the Plan stuff.
