Thinking about all the Good Liberals who shake their heads at anti-maskers and are staying home for the holidays and then jumping into finance and marketing work the next day encouraging what will probably be the largest superspreader event this year, Black Friday.

Any Good Libs working for @Walmart will be encouraging shoppers to show up at 5AM Black Friday. Based on past incidents I’m sure everyone will stand 6 ft apart at all times, wear masks, and avoid any unnecessary contact.

Want to buy a game for the kids and possibly bring them home some COVID-19? @GameStop has you covered. Get there at 7AM where I’m sure the new PS5 will not lead to any unnecessary contact and large gatherings that risk exposure.

Stressed out about COVID and need to do some self care? Head on down to @BedBathBeyond to grab some scented candles, bath bombs, and coronavirus! Open at 6AM on Black Friday.

For some reason the editors at blackfriday dot com only gave @VictoriasSecret 3 1/2 stars. Maybe it’s their refusal to open early to ensure maximum time for unsafe mass gatherings. But don’t worry, they got sales sales sales to get you nice and sexy for your visit to the hospital

If you’re a Good Lib now thinking “Well lets just do Black Friday online - like Amazon,” don’t worry because @amazon has and will be continuing to do its part to ensure thousands of workers get COVID-19 so Jeff Bezos can be the first trillionaire.

I’m not saying this to shame people who will shop on Black Friday (though please please don’t). There shouldn’t be a Black Friday (ever really, but let’s take it one year at a time). It’s going to be an insane mess and people will get infected and die. These companies don’t care.

They’ll claim they can make it safe, the same claims they made to “reopen” the economy and help cause the resurgence of the pandemic. If they continue to make profits, they don’t care if the pandemic lasts forever and kills thousands upon thousands. That’s how capitalism works.

Why should their greed be allowed to kill us anymore than the anti-science views of Trump wingnuts or religious bigotry of fundamentalists who refuse to wear masks?

And really how is it any different? How is it any less anti-science? That’d be like saying “Well I know our prior annual orgies have gotten a bit messy but don’t worry we are taking all the proper precautions and making people wear masks this year.”
