Just so we're clear, seeing a wheelchair user walk or stand or just be in a photo without a wheelchair does not mean they're lying about using a wheelchair.

Ambulatory wheelchair users exist.
People use wheelchairs for all sorts of reasons to help with all sorts of problems that can make walking a bad idea for them. And for some people those problems aren't all the time.
And for some people they can stand still no problem, either briefly or for a long time, but walking is a no-go.

I mean this is just basic logic and knowledge of how human bodies work based on, you know, having one and thinking about it.
What I find much sillier is people who seem to think all wheelchair users do so for the exact same reason and no wheelchair users can ever use their legs.

Like... do you even logic?
I'm not a wheelchair user. I know @annieelainey, who is a wheelchair user, has done significant work of education around this topic.

I'm just annoyed about failures of critical thinking that end up harming Disabled people.
Yes this is about the stuff around Run and the idea that you can spot if someone is a legitimate wheelchair user (and, to expand on that, a legitimate Disabled person) just by stalking their social media.

I mean that is extremely harmful.
Like the US government talked about* having the SSA look at people's social media accounts to determine if they were legitimately Disabled and qualified for assistance or not.

And that's obviously a terrible idea.

*and apparently does in some cases
The hunt for Disability Fakers and the harm that is done to Disabled people because of it, as a whole, really far outweighs the harm Disability Fakers actually do.
If you're here anyway, I desperately need someone to buy for Esme (my puppy) an additional large pee pad and the t-shirt rope on her wish list.

I really need to wash the pee pad in use and also a way to save my clothing. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/205MGGGUUW9BT?ref_=wl_share
Also this is a brief synopsis of the story of Esme. There are a bajillion photos on my media page. https://twitter.com/EbThen/status/1331450433441837056
I was trying to get a new photo of Esme as a sort of dual breather for folks frustrated about the topic of the thread and a thank-you to folks who have been supportive today.

This is... yeah this is what I ended up with.
I mentioned @annieelainey who is behind #AmbulatoryWheelchairUsersExist. This tweet has info on supporting them. https://twitter.com/annieelainey/status/1226644974067908609
