ATTENTION! A stone tool has just been found near @bunjaree. But is it ancient or is it an enthusiast’s modern work?

Here is the operating position. More pictures follow. That’s a 5mm grid in the background.
Here’s pictures from various angles. What’s interesting to note from the first two photos is that it’s a left-handed tool.
I can confirm that it nestles beautifully into my left hand, and I am told that the type of rock is called chert. So...

1. Is this recent work, or could it be somewhat more ancient?
2. Who would be able to tell us more?
3. Is this of interest to a museum or not?
This was found by the side of an unpaved track, but one which had “fresh” grave and grading maybe 5 or 6 years ago. It might have been stirred up nearby, but it’s also likely to be from a gravel pit not too far away. Local rock is primarily ironstone.
Here is a closer view of where the third section of the index finger sits. The broad flattish area on top is the thumb grip. https://twitter.com/bigbadave/status/1331423599551344640
It feels very smooth and well-used to the touch, but I really have no idea.
