Love narrative #podcasting like @serial @ThisAmerLife @Radiolab ?

Me too. In fact those shows are why I got into podcasting! But when I learned they cost $80k - $100k to produce ONE EPISODE, I got really discouraged.
As someone who has cracked the Top 125 with her show, you don't have to be like the big guys to have a successful podcast.

Please do not let getting into "New and Notable" be your only goal (it's hand-picked by the Apple gods now). Do you have an in? #podcasting
Interview style #podcasting has become my go-to. It's relatively quick to do and simple to produce and publish. And you can get fancy and include narrative elements, if you want!

Listeners love *good* interviews and engaging hosts.
There are others who just produce solo shows with incredible stories from the host/narrator.

#podcasting
Don't let a huge idea you've built up in your head, overtake the fun of getting in front of the mic and talking among friends.

If this is your first show and you love podcasting, it won't be your last. And each show will get better.
And if you really want to produce a piece of narrative, do what I did and create a 7-minute story and sell it to public radio or a #podcast

My 7-min story for @wdet on discovering my nine-half siblings took me probably about 100 hours, I'm guessing. Maybe 150.
