Look, we're not mad that Darren decided to start a fan club, that's not what this is about. Its a good point, why single out a group of fans that sit in the outfield to represent your entire fan base? @StevenACohen2, For years, T7L PREACHED for the Wilpons to sell the team. https://twitter.com/RussellTOB/status/1331355773117599746
They showed their displeasure and started to obtain a large following. The Wilpons realized the size of this platform growing and the damage it could potentially do to their business. This was shortly after the "Sell The Team" shirts were selling like hotcakes. The Wilpons wanted
to be sure it did not go any further than that. Bring in the licensing deal: They essentially made a deal with the devil. Sure, you could say "you'd do the same if given the opportunity", but that wouldn't be true, at least not for me. Not for all the $ in Jeff's bank account.
All those years, they preached for the Wilpons to "sell the team", "they are the real problem", "don't accept mediocrity" etc. wasted! They now were just more "Wilpon puppets" with a very large platform. Some of us refused to sit back and accept this, to name a few..
@MetsFansUnited1 @NoMoreWilpons @OmarMinayaFan @GoodFundies @SeanGNYM @TimothyRRyder @MetsDaddy2013 @SaltyGary @DickYoungsGhost and many others, tried to put the pieces of that "movement" back . We raised money for billboards, called for rallies, made petitions, discussed ideas..
made a compilation of articles showing all the meddling and frankly, CHAOS and dysfunction that went on for almost 20 years. With a new era upon us, I think that EVERY #Mets fan should be recognized, not just the fans wearing orange in the outfield. This isn't an attack @ T7L....
We love people that rep T7L, all fans. They follow us, we follow them. It's just the "ghosts" from the past. Out with the old, in with the new. The people that love the #Mets the most are the people that don't get recognized. Every fan should be heard in the "Cohen era" imho..
I know to some, this will feel like an attack(its not). Hopefully one day we can see a change. So the person that would normally fly under the radar, the one that has been a fan longer than most of us have been alive, will be recognized! We should all be recognized! @StevenACohen2
