should I drink wine and make a thread about my 2020 grammy nomination opinions?
alright well 12 of you said yeah in some form and I'm sure that has nothing to do with the fact that I did not include a 'no' option so here we goOOO
hot take #1: B*eber was nom'd in pop for:
- duo/group performance: Intentions w/ Q*avo
- solo perf.: Yummy
- vocal album: Changes
+ he did not deserve any of them. All mid, he can do better.
He was nom'd for country duo/group perf. for 10,000 Hours w/ Dan + Shay. I support

#2: I understand that the "Latin Pop or Urban Album" cat exists, but the lack of representation as a whole when Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Maluma, and more have all been mainstream + charting in the US is incredibly frustrating
#3: F*lklore by T*ylor Sw*ft was great but "Exile" feat. Bon Iver has NOTHING and I mean NOTHING on other pop duo/group performance nominees like BTS and Gaga/Grande
#4: M*ren Morr*s deserves best country song but ppl are gonna complain that the song is too POP and not COUNTRY as if country hasn't been trending closer to pop for years
#5: Do I even have to say this? The Weeknd got PLAYED. I'm not even his biggest fan but between how he's charted in the past year AND After Hours itself.. TMZ, Deux Moi, and more are citing potential tensions bc he chose to perform @ SB LV... wack
#6: I literally laughed out loud when I saw that Tr*vis Sc*tt was nominated in the MELODIC RAP PERFORMANCE category for Highest in the Room. Insulting to Anders*n .P**k (glad P**k is nominated)
#7: another hot take but I don't think that P*st M*lone deserved an album of the year nom for Hollywood's Bleeding :/ he received noms for record + song of the year for Circles and I think that was enough
#8: Laugh Now, Cry Later by Dr*ke and L*l D*rk did not deserve a best rap song nomination. We know Dr*ke can do better so let's hold him to it
#9: the R&B ladies got SNUBBED and I am ANGRY that Kehlani did not get a nomination. Unsure if she submitted It Was Good Until It Wasn't but she deserves her flowers. Listen to this album if you haven't.
#10: I personally thought that J*ck H*rlow was going to get more than one nomination and I think he deserved better
I'm done for now but feel free to share your thoughts! Who should/shouldn't have been nominated this year? Who do you think has potential for next year? lmk
