Thread on why black clover episode 153 (specifically the award ceremony) is actually good, cuz i’ve seen some of yall hate on it and make points which i heavily disagree with.

a lot of ppl dislike the new bc episode mainly because black bulls got no stars/recognition whereas some people who didnt do nearly as much in the elf invasion got promotions and recognition. i feel like that was exactly the point of the episode. because of the state the kingdom-

-is in with the parliament being anti Asta and pretty much anti black bulls, it would make no sense for the ceremony which the king is involved in to give any recognition to Asta or the rest of the squad. That’s why the king being there was significant-

and that’s also why Yami didnt get any recognition until after the king left. In reality its not the episode writers’ fault for the lack of black bulls recognition it’s because the tension between the kingdom and Asta/ the black bulls.

more proof is the fact that Leopold and Sol mentioned they felt undeserving of the award/ that there were others who more greatly impacted the fight against the elves. that tells us the fact that the bulls being left out was fully intentional

though they were in fact deserving of the recognition they got, when compared to the black bulls, not so much. the fact that no black bulls member is there whereas they are makes no sense unless you realize that the reason behind it (the parliament hasn’t yet acknowledge them)

keep in mind Asta and Nero’s name still isn’t clear as we saw in previous episodes, and Julius is the only reason why they’re sentence is being postponed until they prove themselves innocent to those who think they are devils/devil believers

the kingdoms viewpoint on them (as well as their view point on other things, such as social ranking) is completely flawed and written that way intentionally. It all ties to Asta’s main goal which is to essentially fix it and create a kingdom without classism etc.

theres no doubt that the black bulls played the biggest part in defeating the devil, and that Asta (and debatably other black bulls) did more than Yuno did thus, deserve more stars, but the kingdom believes them to be directly tied to the threat of the devils themselves

the goal was to make the viewer feel frustrated at the mistreatment of the kingdom towards the black bulls, thats why Yami’s award was a slight compensation for that. but the fault isnt in the episode nor the anime original writers

And i feel like we shouldn’t be hating on the episode cuz if u actually think about it, it makes perfect sense, and Tabata himself is helping with the writing of the episodes. sorry this was so long felt like it had to be said
