choi minho: the best idol and person of our generation - a thread

i’d like to start with what makes him brilliant as an idol first,, and then go onto him as a person

choi minho is the main rapper of SHINee and i don’t use the word rapper lightly. minho has been writing his own verses for years and is also credited with multiple songs in shinee’s discography including:

orgel, excuse me miss, close the door, dream girl, lipstick, stranger and MANY more. here is a clip of orgel (a personal favourite) with lyrics so you can see just how good he is at this:

one of my favourite rapping styles of minho is his more whispery and soft style!! he utilises this brilliantly for songs with a sadder element but can be more aggressive when the vibe of the song needs it! here is personal favourite soft rap of his:

and just for good measure!! and because this clip is iconic here is him taking on a more aggressive style for a more explosive song (see what i did there?):

now he wouldn’t be a shinee member if he didn’t have vocals that could rock the world would he?? he is more than just a rapper,, just listen to his adlibs and how he can carry a chorus

next i would like to talk about his versatility as an idol,, here is just a small compilation of different concepts he has taken and made his own in 5 seconds or less

minho has improved every release which shows his commitment to his artistry but what has impressed me massively is his dancing skills. just tell me this man didn’t eat this up TRY!! no fancy camera work, no deceiving angles, just him tearing up the dance floor uno

minho genuinely loves being an idol, he’s so committed to his job and u can tell he’s so grateful for the fact he is where he is today, like name a better man u can’t x

now onto him as a human because oh my god he’s a brilliant idol but he becomes even more special when you get to know his personality

his genuine acts of kindness for others without thought. this is genuinely second nature to minho he always puts others first and that’s shown both in his career:

minho has always been known as someone female idols feel comfortable around. he is extremely respectful of their boundaries but is also extremely fun and lighthearted around them

now it wouldn’t be a choi minho appreciation thread without talking about how great he is with kids and how much kids love him!! daddy minho

he is such a caring and loving son like u KNOW this man takes care of his family and has unconditional love for them just LOOK AT HIM

minho is passionate in anything he sets his mind to; whether that be the marine corps (he didn’t take early leave and was a respected leader) or ISAC... he does everything to fullest and his best ability (thanks adelaide for the vid xx)

and last on this thread but certainly not the last of minho’s brilliance is his love for shinee world.... he truly wants the best for shawols and shinee alike!! please give him the same love back and more, he deserves it
