I use ibis Paint x to color on my phone you can use it on both iphone and android it’s free and fairly simple to use, but there also are many other ways to color mac pc tablet etc.

First thing you want to do is grab a manga panel you want to do I suggest something simple if it’s your first one and go to http://waifu2x.udp.jp"> http://waifu2x.udp.jp to upscale the quality just copy my settings down below

Also if you can color over the black(you shouldn’t) you should go into your gallery and turn the black point up

Step one Extract the lineart, set black to 1% and white to 99%.Add a new layer and move it below the manga panel

In this coloring I only used these 2 brushes

The next step is to pick the color you want to use, you should make a layer for each piece you’re going to color(hair skin clothes etc.) when coloring i use

Also if you don’t know the color you can go to google and get a reference to use and match the color correctly

Also if you don’t like the color of something you can easily tweak it by going to the bars and once you get the color you want you should turn on alpha lock for the thing you want to change and color over it quickly

Flats are done i used “Dip Pen(Hard) for all my flats

Once you finish with flats it’s time to shade, you have to make a new layer and clip it to the thing you’re shading and put the mode on multiply

once you have it in all the spots you should grab the blur brush and blur it

now time to add highlights you should again make a new layer and clip it to the thing you’re shading and put the highlights in spots where the light will be

for the hair you do it the same make a new layer put it on mode multiply and cover and blur it when you’re done

now you have to add highlights to her hair make a new layer put it on add and put it in spots with the air brush and blur

for her eyes shading i just took a air brush and used 2 layers to shade

and for her scarf I did the same thing added 2 layers one multiply one add and shaded
