I have been struggling really hard the last few weeks. And I kept saying things like "I don't understand, I'm getting help. I dont get it, I am on medication."

In this moment of clarity I remembered that there's so much more going on right now.
So this is your reminder:
Meds and therapy and self care doesnt fix a global pandemic

Meds and therapy and self care doesn't fix systemic racism (or any ism)

Meds and therapy and self care doesn't fix extreme political tensions
Meds and therapy and self care dont fix a broken medical system

Meds and therapy and self care is a privilege that not everyone has access too

Meds and therapy and self care doesn't solve homelessness or poverty
Meds and therapy and self care dont solve not loving our neighbors as ourselves

Meds and therapy and self care dont solve economic hardships

Meds and therapy and self care dont solve fighting for human rights
Meds and therapy and self care dont solve social or racial inequality

Many of us, if not most of us are facing some if not all of the things on this list (plus more)

You can be doing your absolute best, and still struggle. That's okay! There is more to life right now then
What can be addressed with meds or therapy or self care.
Its not going to be solved by eating right, exercising or yoga

What all of those things are, are TOOLS to help you cope.

We are dealing with a situation that is impacting mental health on a LARGE scale
Give yourself some grace. If you feel like you "shouldn't be" struggling, give yourself some more.

There is no quick and easy fix when your needs are not being met.
We have thrown maslovs hierarchy out the window.
