My 10 rejected grants were led by Level B women (2), Level C women (6), Level C men (1), and Level E women (1). My 1 successful @arc_gov_au was led by a Level E man.

There have been near-misses. There have been wildly inappropriate reviews. I've fallen afoul of the #ARC3DayRule: (4/7) https://twitter.com/ARC_Tracker/status/1266251689427824640?s=20
I've also learned things. I've built collaborations. I've developed projects that I've done anyway ( #ValueForMoney, anyone?).
But I'm finding it increasingly difficult to encourage others - especially #ECR - to just keep trying. Folks have been telling me that for years (5/7)

I'm in a position of enormous privilege - a continuing position, a fantastic collaborative network, and research that can be done without much $$. Many more talented researchers are much less fortunate and don't even get to keep trying (6/7)
