Continuing to see tweets about non-conference basketball jeopardizing the season. I couldn't disagree more strongly. If EVERY other sport (all being played successfully) has taught us anything, more time is what you need. WAITING is not a good idea. Also, MOST games are still on!
People are going to test positive in January and February just like they are now. However, due to testing protocols it is better off to have some teams "get it over with" now as opposed later on closer to the tournament. Teams will miss games, but now they have time to reschedule
I just don't understand the thought process behind thinking we should push things back. First off, 88% of teams are still active. That is a VAST majority. Secondly, you think the virus will magically disappear in January/February? It'll disappear for conference games?
Not who it works. Play now. Play all season. Some games will get postponed/cancelled, but as we have seen in EVERY OTHER SPORT the show will go on and this will be a successful NCAA Basketball season. Let's just not freak out before we even get started.
