This is what I call the chilling affect.

@AmnestyIreland with their clout as an international human rights organisation tell you that people who criticise a letter are decontextualising phrases in a way that misleads & confuses. Then they turn off replies.

I decontextualised nothing. Unlike @AmnestyIreland provided the letter so you could read it. I read it many times to try to understand how @Amnesty signed it. Here it is again - so you can read it yourself. Decide for yourself.

Words count. So please tell me how I have misunderstood this letter. @Amnesty you are campaigning for removal of "legitimate representation" from people who hold differing views and perspectives.

I am a member of the LGBTI+ family, out & proud for 30 years. I absolutely believe that Trans people should be treated with dignity and respect & afforded the full protection of the law.

Without any cognitive dissonance I also live by the tenet that people who hold alternative beliefs to me are 100% entitled to be treated with dignity and respect & afforded the full protection of the law.

Denying "legitimate representation" is never OK.
