Today I received a letter to my home address from a man who called having a 'Down's Syndrome child' an 'appalling change' in life. He called me disgraceful. This threatening mail to the house, in which my 3 year old daughter lives, was from an elected councillor.

Thankyou everyone for your concern. I have filed a report with the police and a complaint with the council he is a member of. Hence the reason I have withheld his name. He needs educating more than anything.

A little update. The parish council I complained to about his behaviour have informed him of the complaint and *somehow* he now has my personal email address that he has used to send me further comments. Apparently I shouldn't feel 'intimidated' or risk writing to The Times again

And now the official response from the parish council arrives into my inbox. 'May I suggest that you focus on having an enjoyable and happy Christmas with your daughter and let this matter lie.'
