The agonising we've done about why girls don't keep up sport in their teenage years.

When you remember that they are told in FIRST YEAR that their bodies are 'distracting' and need to be hidden while exercising, it's not that fucking hard to figure out, is it?
This school, after all of our policies about sports participation and @20x20_ie, has decided that what a girl *looks* like when she is playing sport is worthy of attention, rule-making and punishment. I am so mad.
But I am also so heartened by the response of the girls themselves, their male friends in their school and their parents. Look, that is a sign of things changing. Just not quickly enough.
Also, please, if you ever come into my timeline again when I'm talking about women's sport to say that girls and boys are treated the exact same now that it's 2020. You'll be directed to this thread and told to get in the sea.
Related issue: kinda besides the point but also enraging. It's almost impossible to buy good value sports clothes in mainstream stores that aren't tight fitting right now.
