In 2017, they told me #GA07 could never be won by a Democrat. Now, as the only Democratic candidate in 2020 to flip a seat from red to blue, a lot of people have been asking how we did it. THREAD ⤵️
(2/8) We stayed focused on the issues that mattered, from health care to the economy.

I was the Georgia Senate Budget Director during the Great Recession, and I helped get our economy back on track. Georgians wanted leaders who cared about getting us through this crisis.
(3/8) My campaign was powered by more than 100 organizers, fellows, and interns, who ran a first-of-its-kind voter turnout effort in Gwinnett and Forsyth counties.

We talked to more than 18,000 voters — 12,000 of which voted early or by mail. #gapol #GA07
(4/8) We built powerful coalitions of the diverse communities in #GA07.

I held regular events to hear from community leaders — like our South Asian Roundtable, Korean Roundtable, Chinese Roundtable, Faith Leaders Roundtable, and Divine Nine Roundtable. https://www.carolyn4congress.com/community
(5/8) We reached voters in the languages they knew. 25% of our district was born outside of this country!

Our campaign produced materials in Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese, and we translated phone banks into Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish.
(6/8) We had YOU! Our campaign was powered by grassroots supporters who helped us break fundraising records. 88% of my contributions in the last 3 months of the campaign were under $200, and I never took corporate PAC money.
(7/8) We didn't do this alone. My campaign to mobilize voters and flip #GA07 built on the work of organizers and activists like @staceyabrams, @GwinnettDems, @ForsythDemGA, and so many more who really believed in our communities.
(8/8) I'm honored to be your Congresswoman-elect. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Together, we #FinishedTheJob.

Now, as all eyes are on Georgia, my team is focused on sending @ossoff and @ReverendWarnock to the United States Senate. Let's win this. #gapol
