This post by @randomWhiz and @AryanSomaiya struck a chord with me and made me think about how politics that are retributive are ultimately counter productive for the marginalized https://twitter.com/AryanSomaiya/status/1331121171442536448
Bear with me for a while. I'm definitely pro- #LoSHA and #MeToo

Those came after frustration and anger at inaction despite years of complaints as per 'due process'.

When the tools of the oppressed start being used by the privileged, it's bound to hurt the marginalized
The kind of calling out that makes me uncomfortable is when marginalized folks end up getting attacked when they start expressing opinions that call out liberals and fence sitters (who consider themselves as the good guys), or when we one refuses to hold B/W opinions
Liberals who are happy to outrage when a gross abuse of power happens get touchy when acts of omissions by them (like why did such structures come up in the first place? Why did people continue giving patronage to perpetrators despite what whisper circles said) are pointed out.
The worst kind is when the uber rich obtain the language of the oppressed and start behaving as gatekeepers of propriety. For all the paeans they sing about intersectionality, their politics rarely feature passing the mic. Rather they use this to cover their own failings.
All it takes is for a rich, influential call out monster to say to one's peers that one should not be engaged with because one is 'problematic'. What this action was, was it ever taken up with said person, were they given a chance to explain/make amends are seldom asked
The framing of the person vs the action 'being problematic' is also done selectively. For example, if you don't like someone, they're problematic, but if you like someone and they did something indefensible, then their actions were uncharacteristic, but unfortunate.
The intention of such calling out is seldom to achieve restorative justice.

Yes there are folks who are repeat offenders and the action taken against them must commensurate their wrongdoing. But surely we can be more critical when the powerful target the disempowered?
