This video released by Finnish #DefenceForces Forces (FDF) is notable for a few reasons (thread) #turpo : https://youtu.be/en21sFypy2c ">https://youtu.be/en21sFypy...
1) It shows actual impacts of the weapons used, something the FDF has been loath to show for fear that others (read Russia) could deduce some Finnish operational art from them.
This was not by accident.
This was not by accident.
2) Showcases JOINT ops, but more critically and specifically suggests the new Finnish C2 system is actually closer to a ‘small-state’ #JADC2 system (Joint All Domain Command and Control) system, enabling an ‘any sensor, any shooter’ approach to fighting...
...how cyber, information and space operations are integrated is not public.
3) Joins the #taistelukenttä2020 video in being fairly explicit about the (only) potential adversary (more on simulated targets below).
So what? Well, combined with public info on the Bold Quest event held in 2019, and the continued development of NATO’s Federated Mission Networking (FMN) efforts, it paints a picture of #Finland being technically able to receive a wide spectrum of assistance on & #39;day one& #39;.
A few comments on the video itself, since it is not (yet?) translated:
00:10-00:20: Drone & FAC identifying multiple high-priority targets, ending with “Lamauta” suppress (order) by & #39;effects centre& #39;, received by & #39;fires centre& #39;.

00:25 - 00:55: updated MLRS unit (Army) drives into a position, a JDAM being hung on a Hornet (Air Force) and a coastal defence missile (Spike ER) being loaded (Navy).
