I went to #Tulum and had a ball. Here’s the thread of my recommendations of places to book, things to eat, and where to stay/go.
You fly into Cancun bc Tulum doesn’t have an airport yet. I would highly recommend renting a car for $20 a day rather than relying on taxi and shuttle. If you do decide to shuttle from Cancun to Tulum go with Happy Shuttle

We stayed in a beautiful Airbnb in Aldea Zamá called, “Trinity condos and lofts”. It’s 10 minutes away from the city of Tulum, but far enough away to be out of the way of crowds and tourist. Considered a “safe” city.

Rosa Negra is a place in the city where you pay for ambiance. I would give the food a 3/5. It was definitely a vibe though. They have a DJ, come out with sparklers for everyone, and people are dancing at their table.

Most of our beach days included drinks and lunch at Pancho Villa. Amazing staff and ceviche con pescado. Everything caught fresh! A short walk ahead and you’re on the beach with $30 1 hr massages and live music.
You HAVE to dig into the street food. My tab was like $5 USD and I had a drink, 2 empanadas with cheese, and chips with guac. Best place I ate there was Antojitos La Chiapaneca. Very popular street taco place.
Another place to eat is Don Cafeto. They have amazing breakfast and lunch. More street food, outdoor seating, and live music. Right on the “strip”.
Other places to eat in Tulum for top tier street food include Burrito Amor, La barracuda, and El Camello Jr. Most of this is on the same block.
We paid $80 to ATV, Zip line through 7 different towers, swim in a cave, swim in a cenote (natural pit/sinkhole), and lunch was included. One of the most beautiful things I’ve ever done. Those pedicure fish were in the cenote. 😂

Here are some more pictures from that experience. Aventuras Mayas is the place we booked through. See tweet above for link to book.
If you’re going with a group & want to rent a mini yacht or catamaran, Rivera Maya is your place. I’ve seen some start as low as $700 USD. Requires $300 deposit & rest is due when you get there. Includes food, open bar, snorkeling, fishing, music.

Nightlife (I’m getting lazy, look these places up lol)

• Gitano
• Batey Mojito and Guapo Bar

You will run into places and different attractions along that same road as Gitano and Rosa Negra. That whole strip is night life.
Hugo taxi service is everywhere in Tulum. They were always very responsive and safe. Their WhatsApp is +52 984 129 3378
