More recently Greenwald went to substack right after he was fired from Intercept (where Taibbi had also once been) after complaining abt being edited when he was pushing Biden’s son disinfo stories around the election. Omidyar had paid him 500k/yr

This may be part of the point of the start up.

It’s a place where the goals of looking for 10x growth, ego, abstract ideological commitment, the abuse business and an interest in undermining US institutions and all come together.

...given what we’ve all seen from Russia, other cruel regimes and organized crime in the last few years, I’m noticing where their interests overlap with VCs and SV norms and culture.

if it or which of Joi Ito’s investments from Neoteny (his fund...look up that word—I wish I had year ago when I first heard it and even went to a party for something it funded...Lanier likes the term too) received Jeffrey Epstein money.

Has any reporter looked? There has been no pressure for any company to look.
I had friends at some of these companies. I loved what some of them did.

I did say something about my discomfort with Taibbi in substack’s launch and promo (and the founders reappnse to me) to a few writers I like whom I saw going to substack early. I’ve put a few of those attempts in this thread earlier.
