So, I have a theory on Allen Robinson's extension with #DaBears .

In 2020, the draft class was one of the strongest for WRs that we have ever seen. And multiple draft analysts think the 2021 NFL draft could be even stronger.
Colleges are producing more NFL ready WR talent than ever before, due to the growth in high power college offenses, as well as the growth of college concepts in the NFL.

Alabama and LSU are high powered offenses. This is new to the SEC, and other more traditional offenses.
If the Bears scouts / FO believe that NFL ready WR talent will continue to come from the college ranks, they could put less value on the WR position in general and believe that the WR position is easier to fill via draft than other holes they will need to spend FA $, such as OL.
2020 NFL draft pick

- Jerry Jeudy - 1.15
- CeeDee Lamb - 1.17
- Jalen Reagor - 1.21
- Justin Jefferson - 1.22
- Brandon Aiyuk - 1.25
- Tee Higgins - 2.33
- Michael Pittman Jr - 2.34
- Laviska Shenault - 1.42
- KJ Hamler - 2.46
- Chase Claypool - 2.49
- Van Jefferson - 2.57
2021 Draft Class WRs:

- JaMarr Chase
- Rondale Moore
- Jaylen Waddle
- Rashid Bateman
- Amon-Ra St. Brown
- Devonta Smith
- Tutu Atwell
- Chris Olave
- Tamorrion Terry
- Sage Surratt
According to a PFF article:

"While everyone raved about the 2020 WR class, there is a legitimate possibility that 2021's group is even more talented. It's a young class with both physical freaks and some extremely polished route runners."
If this is indeed the case with the Bears FO, I would expect to see a tag and trade of A Rob for draft capital in the coming off season. Potentially to obtain draft currency to facilitate a move up for a qb.
