A thread about our therapy dog, Callie:
Before we were introduced to Callie, she was taken to the pound by a domestic abuse victim. The victim was moving away from an abusive spouse and unfortunately the new apartment did not accept dogs.

From there, Callie became part of the Paws & Stripes program at the @BrevardSheriff Office. This program pairs trained jail inmates with shelter dogs that are at high risk of being euthanized.
The inmates help train the dog in basic obedience and then the dog gets matched with a new potential owner. The new owner is required to complete an application and 8 hours of training held at the Paws and Stripes College prior to the adoption.
To date, over 300 dogs like Callie have graduated and been saved through this program!
OCSO was lucky enough to meet Callie through Deputy Clark. He was matched with Callie after her training.

Deputy Clark says, she is an obedient dog while in her uniform, but the second it’s off, she is a normal dog that loves to run, play, & get into stuff! Her fav treats are bully sticks & her fav toy is any stuffed animal that she can shred & have snow fluffies all over the house.
We are very thankful to have Callie and Deputy Clark on our team!
