Let me tell you about the well organized racket going on in Apapa & why the trucks aren't leaving soon

So Apapa & Tincan ports can only accommodate 1500 trucks in a time.
but Lagos chamber of commerce has said that at least, 5000 trucks seek to gain entrance into the port daily https://twitter.com/ambrosia_ijebu/status/1327588551245115392
There's a high demand to get in

To avoid spending weeks queuing on the bridges connecting apapa, drivers have to fasttrack their movement into the port

To fasttrack movements, drivers have to pay around N250k for 20ft truck and N350k for 40ft truck to get in BRIBE to enter port
So Port officials make about N375m from 20Ft and about N525m from 40Ft trucks if a 1500 drivers decide to speed up movement. Around N900m DAILY.

These monies are pocketed and not recorded in the govt’s revenue books. Na person pocket e enter. Corruption
And for a govt that claims to be focused on agriculture. The Agric focused companies, exporting perishable goods will have their products lined up on apapa bridge for weeks & risk their products going bad before reaching destination country
They’ll have to pay fast tracking fees, else, their goods will perish before it gets to their destination & paying fasttracking bribe means their products will cost more than competitors. You see another problem?

This well organized racket is the perpetuator of the apapa gridlock
