One of the things I find strange about some of the people ‘calling out’ @oldandrewuk for ‘bullying’ women who disagrees with, is that some of these same people have been relentless in criticising things I say about my school due to the type of school it is. 1/4
As it happens, I am a woman. I don’t think their misogynists for this. I also don’t think discussing the issue with them does anyone any good. So I blocked them. Which is nice because when I’ve experienced similar on courses (and from my PGCE lecturers!) I was unable 2/4
To do that. Now the only time I see these people is in gaps in threads complaining about that kind of behaviour aimed at other people. I click to see (I know, I know) and see nothing has changed. I don’t like curating an echo chamber but when it becomes too much I block 3/4
Conclusion: I am reminded of the story where Jesus tells the Pharisees (I think, it was usually them) to stop worrying about the speck in someone else’s eye and worry about the plank in your own. Hard when we all like to think of ourselves as good people, but important. 4/4
