Why tf are there so many bad “Sarawak laksa” recipes online... who tf puts whole chicken pieces instead of shredded chicken breast. Fried tofu and hard boiled egg in my Sarawak laksa?? The nerve...
The Sarawak laksa paste recipe and ingredients was a secret jealously guarded by the company that monopolised it, but this is a good recipe

Of course one of the bad recipes (which is one of the top results... why) is by a non-Sarawakian. Changing the vermicelli to egg noodles... adding fried tofu and chicken pieces and toting it as Sarawak laksa... crime... hdu...
Sorry I’m just (ง •̀_•́)ง it’s my fav dish in the whole wide world from my hometown which is a hometown pride everyone there has for it so it’s kinda like idk some person from another region changing the recipe of your traditional home dish and still touting it authentique
Anyway if you can find the paste this is the OG and most authentic and much more convenient than making it from scratch but it’s probably harder to find overseas
This thread happened because I was looking for Sarawak laksa recipes for Ying who wanted to try it
A certain SG chain shop that specialises in “authentic Sarawak kolo mee” did something similar too NO IT IS NOT AUTHENTIC so many SG people telling me they finally tried kolo mee there and I die inside (admittedly it tastes good but it is not authentic)
