I don't know when will this obsession with lana ends but after much reading, the conclusion I come to is that there's actually a market in the US for portrayals of meek, submissive women that is abused by the men she's with.

That's also maybe why Twilight is so popular.
50 Shades is popular too because women, or maybe people, I'm not sure, actually likes this trope. In that side of the world.

In this side of the world, that portrayal of femininity is something I could live without as I've internalised it all the time growing up.
A tweeter a few years ago say that white men particularly like malay women because of them being trained to be submissive and follow men however much like a lana's song character.

In a way, lana is the malay men wet dream probably as much as much as a white man's one.
This thread may be an incoherent jumble but seeing how US women talks about how 3rd wave feminism doesn't benefit them by having them shed their femininity and be masculine to prove their worth is kinda like Lana's sentiments in her so-called letter to the culture.
