"Oh, COVID-19 is only dangerous to the VULNERABLE." "If you have someone VULNERABLE, you have to give up things that everyone else gets to keep having." You know who's vulnerable to a novel, airborne, infectious disease that causes organ damage? FUCKING EVERYONE.

I can count at least five diabetics among the people I consider close friends. People essential to my survival. I have incredibly high blood pressure for reasons my doctor has yet to figure out. We are "the vulnerable."

But when you say "the vulnerable" as if that doesn't mean ALL OF US, you set us up to be mistreated and shamed, because now it's not COVID-19 and the need to be smart canceling Christmas, it's Grandma. It's Mom's breast cancer. It's Doug's diabetes.

America has always had a eugenicist streak a mile wide, but WE NEED TO CUT THIS SHIT OUT. Because we are ALL, 100% of us, "the vulnerable." And yeah, COVID-19 kills some people more easily than others, but you don't know if it's going to kill you.

I would not have classed myself as "the vulnerable" until September 2019, when we found my hypertension in the wake of an infection that LITERALLY KILLED ME. Now I know I am. Do YOU know for sure? Have you had a full metabolic workup recently? How sure are you?

Are you sure enough to kill your daughter, whose diabetes would have been diagnosed next month? Your spouse, whose hypertension has been building quietly? Your parent, who is elderly but still deserves to live?

(And I apologize for that "but." It should have been "and still deserves to live." There is no age where it becomes legal to shoot Grandma.)

So CUT THAT SHIT OUT. If you want to be a selfish shithead who risks the lives of people around you to seem like you're in touch with Jesus and the love of your family, just SAY IT. Say "I think I'm better than you, so God will protect me from disease."

Stop fucking playing at piety. The God you claim to be doing this for doesn't love a liar.
