I can't get past that we're literally all here because this show brought us together. Because the feelings we had about these characters and their journeys caused us to seek out more. Because passively watching this show alone wasn't enough. 1/6
We needed to talk about it, to share our excitement, to celebrate it through transformative works.
Every single day for YEARS I have spent in communication with people I met because of this show. We are here sharing our pain, grief, and dismay because we've formed a family. 2/6

So to see that idea of found family--of "family don't end with blood"--completely disregarded in the finale feels like a slap in the face to what we've built here together. Like we were foolish to let it matter to us and bring us together. 3/6
Initially these connections were based solely on Supernatural, but over time they've become so much more. If nothing else, perhaps this finale brought us all closer together as we rely on each other to process and question and laugh. 4/6
Before the finale aired, I joked about how it was a shame we would all have to stop being friends once the show ended. I realize now that the show became merely a soundtrack to our lives as we moved forward, supporting each other through the pandemic and life in general. 5/6
I will resist the urge to say that the real lesson of Supernatural was the friends we made along the way, but the truth of the matter is that our connections, our relationships, and our found family... those in and of themselves are transformative works. 6/6
