What was predicted: mass election violence, chaos, and the end of democracy

What happened: rage tweeting, comical lawsuits, and an otherwise fairly robust voter turnout
The fact number one didn't happen is a good thing! Even on this Silicon Valley doom app, we can acknowledge that, right?
lol come on you worked for George W. Bush
When candidates are down in a close election they often go to lawsuits, major parties sue to knock minor parties off the ballots (Democrats did it to Greens in several states this year). That stuff happens. With Trump it was just way more incompetent and flamboyant.
The most important thing is happening good checks and balances and institutions that prevent politicians from behaving undemocratically, because every politician wants power, no politician is out to be fair to their opponents.
Bush and Gore weren't suing in 2000 to ensure the fairness of the system. They just wanted to win. That's why the system is important, don't be naive that some politicians favor democracy and others don't, the incentives for them are just to win. The system has to have checks.
The good news is:

1) The system is pretty good at defending itself against ridiculous lawsuits

2) The people are not interested in revolting pver one lost election or whatever fantasies were broadcast nonstop on cable news. The Proud Boys were not the Bolsheviks.
Most of the rioting and political violence this year was from the far left, but the good news is, even among that group, that was maybe a few thousand people. 99% of left-leaning people aren't interested in political violence either.
Overall, America is in decent shape! Not perfect, but that's always the story.
