I was surrounded by some of the worlds highest peaks
Behemoth like mountains all around myself. Tens of thousands of meters high.
I took a $5000 journey to the Himalayas with a $3500 MacBook Pro, $2000 in accessories (Jacket, backpack)
My goal? To disconnect for a week

To get there, I choose a Jeep with an experienced driver to take me on this 14 hour journey.
It begun as bedrock, surrounded by hills.
As the hours past, the hills sizes widened and spread.
Hills became Mountains,
Mountains became Summits
Summits became Behemoths.

At around the 10 hour mark, we made it to an area that I thought of as the rooftop of the world
About 10k feet high, I took a quick break at the top to hear the roar between the valleys.
I got back in my Jeep and we begun driving downhill across the thin path.

Around 6000 feet in the air when everything in my life was about to change forever.
I saw some nervousness in my drivers face.
He yelled “The breaks aren’t working”
He tries putting the car in park, emergency breaks, everything and anything you can imagine.

By this point we are going downhill the mountain at 145 km/h
Now we only had 3 options.
1. Drive off the cliff to the right, down 6000 feet
2. Hit the car in front of us and go off the cliff with them
3. Hit the side of the mountain.
We choose option 3.
Before a blink....

BOOM a colossal sound.
We hit.
The car is in the air for what felt like minutes.
I survived.
In this moment as I slithered my way out of the Jeep,
My jacket was torn, my laptop was who knows where.
But my focus?
My focus was looking all around
We hit.

I wasn’t worried about my laptop. I didn’t think of accessories. NOTHING.
This could have been it, the end of myself, but the world still would have went on.
I was nothing compared to the size of the behemoths.

Being rich isn’t about monetary things.
Being rich is you being able to wake up in the morning and do what you love.
Being rich is being able to spend time with your love ones.
Being rich is you being grateful for what you have in the moment.
Be rich. Stay humble.
