I always laugh a bit when rappers ask me, surprised, where I found their music. I think I& #39;m the only one searching out local rap on my own without shaking hands and meeting people at a bar/party/school.
Imagine how connected the artist network would be if other artists did too.

I found all the online promo you do. Your hash tags worked to get my attention, then your music was something I liked so I engaged and played it on #ATSIC. The online social media grind works if DJs aren& #39;t lazy.
The reality is no one looks.

I& #39;m not a DJ. I host a show, but really I do this to help good artists get heard instead letting the mainstream ruin Hip Hop. Hopefully, it gets my music listened to the next time I drop something (that might work one day), & builds a network of artists to collab with
Once I dig through the heaps of broke guys rapping in autotune about how they go skrrt wit yo bitch for the 12 384 time, when I find an artist I like, the sad part here is that many still can& #39;t be bothered to engage. The ones who do, I play, retweet, and build with.
Rappers think promo means a flashy video, a feature they paid 500 bucks for, a bunch of streams they paid for, and paid position on some playlists or review accounts. Personally I don& #39;t want fans who are dumb enough to be tricked by that kind of marketing. Shit looks tacky to me.
