This may ruffle feathers in Pakistan & Israel but the political DNA of both countries share some striking similarities:

1. A traumatic event serves as a catalyst for state's creation but particularly defines ID of one group (e.g., Holocaust & Askhenazim, partition & Mohajirs).
2. A partnership with a significantly larger power that is largely defined by a common threat perception but portrayed as an all-weather friendship.

3. The adoption of a new lingua franca that few people spoke before the inception of the new state.
4. Obviously the scale of Israel's displacement of Palestinians is far larger than displaced groups in Pakistan but the latter still exists.

Many other differences exist but the similarities are interesting.
