COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS (A Thread)
For students in Florida (No income or racial requirements)

1. FRAG (Florida Residents Access Grant) - about $3500/year for any student going to a private university - http://www.leg.state.fl.us/data/publications/2002/house/reports/EdFactSheets/fact%20sheets/resident.pdf

2. Bright Futures - 75%-100% tuition - merit based - https://www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org/SAPHome/SAPHome?url=home
All US Undergrad Students (income based)

3. Pell Grant - coverage depends on need but I believe it can cover 100% tuition for public schools in some states (like Florida) - income requirements vary - https://studentaid.gov/understand-aid/types/grants/pell
7. Taco Bell - For "change makers" (people doing big things in the community) - https://www.tacobellfoundation.org/live-mas-scholarship/

8. Google - they sponsor a bunch of different ones for students with different disadvantages + they offer funding for conference travel - https://buildyourfuture.withgoogle.com/scholarships/
TIPS ON FINDING SCHOLARSHIPS:

1. Talk to your school's guidance counselors
2. Call colleges directly & ask about funding they offer
3. Look at your state gov's website. (Google "financial aid + [your state]"
4. Ask your place of employment about programs (I know Starbucks has 1)
5. Check with your parent's employers because they might also have programs.
6. familiarize yourself with local legislation. When a school says "we can only give you X" find out how true that is & push to get what you're entitled to
7. Look into on-campus clubs and organizations that give extra $$ (Student ambassadors, tour guides, leadership clubs) (I literally got paid $500/semester for allowing them to show prospective students my dorm)
