Before you lecture junior servicemembers on fiscal responsibility, ask yourself these questions: (feel free to add any you see)
How many gloves, boot socks, or notebooks and pencils could you have gotten for them at ServeMart instead of buying all the officers multitools at the end-of-year push?
How much air-fare did you cost them by failing to plan leave periods more than a month out?
How much extra money are they spending on haircuts because of a cultural policy that doubles isn't the written standard?
Why didn't you get that bulk issue or winter socks before the December field op? Laziness? You didn't know it was available? Just never asked?
Yes, many make bad financial decisions on their own, but you as an officer can make life easier if you would just do your job better
