I am only now 5 years out of that 9 year relationship and only realized this year that I was groomed. It’s an abuse you don’t see happening while it’s happening. When I read the “joke” I actually had a full on panic attack. I was on the floor shaking and convulsing while Peter consoled me, not knowing what was wrong. So it’s not about being PC- just about being not hurtful/more aware.
