First, video:
Consider your (1) camera angle, (2) lighting, & (3) video source:

): Webcams aimed up at your chin & nostrils capture your least flattering angle & promote bad posture. Elevate your camera to at least eye level by setting it on books or a stand! (2/9)

): It doesn't matter how great you look if no one can see you! Try to find a bright soft light. Sit in front of a window or put a lamp behind your camera. If too bright, angle the lamp to bounce the light off the wall or cover with a white t-shirt to soften. (3/9)

): Consider using something other than your built-in webcam! Did you know you can use your cell phone (which has a much better camera) as your webcam? The apps EpocCam Pro ($8), DroidCam (free), and Iriun Webcam (free) allow you to easily do this! (4/9)

Do you have a camera lying around? Set it up as your webcam! Sony cameras with âImaging Edgeâ and Canon cameras with âEOSâ take only a few minutes to set up as your webcam. You will first need to download free software, see their websites for more details. (5/9)
Do you own a camera, but is it older and doesnât natively allow for webcam usage? Thatâs ok, there is a workaround! Purchase a âHDMI to USB Capture Card,â which typically cost $15-20 on Amazon. This will allow your computer to read your camera as a webcam. (6/9)
Second, consider your Audio: Unfortunately, many laptops come with horrible built-in microphones. Producing poor audio quality can be distracting to listeners and take away from the important information you are saying!
