10 STRATEGIES FOR LEARNING NEW SKILLS

{A THREAD}
1. Ditch Your Learning Style

Whatever you think is your learning style
Let me tell you it isn't
I also thought you had to have a certain type of learning style, and I've noticed it's "according to what I want to learn" that a style seems more suitable
E.g Language = TV shows
2. Make It More Meaningful for Yourself

"Find a meaning to whatever you are trying to learn"

-How can this help me?
-Why am I trying to learn this?

Why most of us failed in mathematics was because we didn't find it really useful, we just did it because the school said so 😂
3. Learn by Doing

I think this one is pretty self explanatory guys right?

You can't learn Korean just by watching tv shows or reading blogs or listening to their music

You have to actually speak it!

you could find some groups and the likes where you can practice your skills.
4. Study the Greats, and Then Practice

You wanna learn how to write?

Study experienced writers!

Look at what you are lacking

Compare your works

Improve in your skills

You'll definitely notice a change!
5. Teach What You Learn

Why do you think you are different from those professors or teachers?

You learnt the same things in school right?

But they still know everything by heart

It's because they share knowledge daily that it practically becomes a second habit to them
6. Spend More Time Practicing Things You Find Difficult

Try do things you find difficult, it's called "Deliberate practice"

When you focus and make up your mind to beat that "kraken" your mind backs you up, it knows you won't give up

Which makes learning it more fluid
7. Take Frequent Breaks

While we all want to excel in what we do and we could pretty much go overboard

Taking breaks is actually a very good thing, you don't want to burn yourself out

You will definitely lose your drive quickly

So take breaks from time to time
8. Test Yourself

Why do you think you are given test in schools? Cause it makes recalling what was learnt more easier

I know most of us hated it like me

But testing yourself actually helps you perfect your skill easily

So go out there and test those limits
9. Find A Mentor

This is a sure fire way to get a masters in your skills

Now I don't mean you should have to see the person

Most people mentors are dead people or people they probably wouldn't see for the rest of their lives

Get a mentor
Very important!
10. Be Curious

You ever heard of the term "curiosity killed the cat?" Well fuck it

That is just a term some set of people created to make us dormant

You don't want to be dormant do you?

So go out there ask questions, do more research, don't just stick to what you learnt
