Last year, I sold my blog for over $100,000.

Let's begin.

// THREAD //
1: Blogging platform

WordPress. It's easy. Well-supported. Uber flexible.

And, it's free.

👉 Don't over-complicate this. Use WordPress and move on.
2: Start writing

I didn't plan. Didn't wireframe. Didn't do a bunch of research.

Those are excuses for stalling.

👉 Just fucking start. Write. Write often. Write from the heart.
3: Choose money-making topics

I ranked for $$$ keywords, like:

- financial independence
- early retirement
- making money
- debt relief

Writing about how silly your cat is won't get you money.

👉 You'll get paid for high-value keywords.
4: Start marketing

My blog was my life. It was a part of me. Make your blog a part of you.

Be a sucker for pageviews.

Get on social. Buy ads if you want.

👉 Your buyer will pay handsomely for eyeballs on pages.
5: Join an ad network

"But I don't want a bunch of ads on my site!"

Respectively, screw that.

Ad networks provide consistent revenue.

👉 Your buyer is buying your revenue, not your words.
6: Prepare to sell

Gather income statements.

Create your media kit (pageviews, social cred, email list #s, etc)

Then, don't be desperate. Wait for the right offer.

👉 Find someone who WANTS your blog.

Brokers can help.
At the time of sale, I had:

- ~75,000 monthly pageviews
- 7,500 on email list
- 13,000 Twitter followers
- ~$2,000 monthly revenue
